The reviewing official is the authorized individual responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the AER prepared by the academic rater and/or academic advisor.

The reviewing official for DA Form 1059 and DA Form 1059–2 will be the commandant, academic dean, or an official designated above the academic rater.

HRC, Advanced Education Programs Branch (AHRC–OPL–C) is the reviewer for DA Form 1059–1 for all programs under AR 621–1 and AR 621–7.
c.
HRC, Advanced Education Programs Branch or AMEDD Student Detachment (as applicable) will be the administrative reviewer on all DA Form 1059–1 reason for submission selections of “Initial Report” for Soldiers starting a long-term education program extending 24 months or more.
