PREPARATION DRILL, MODIFIED EXERCISE 7: MODIFIED FORWARD LUNGE
The instructor may modify the forward lunge by decreasing the range of motion. As with all lunges, this one may restrict knee bend. The Soldier may keep the feet closer together than with the forward lunge. The Soldier concentrates on trying to gradually lower the body in the lunge position (Figure 6-72). Over time, the Soldier gradually increases his range of motion and works toward standard execution of the exercise.
