Army Combat Readiness Test

To the best of our knowledge, any attempt to replace the current Army APFT has been halted.  We have lined through the text on this page until we know more.

Along with rolling out a new Phsyical Fitness Test for Soldiers called the Army Physical Readiness Test (APRT), the Army is recommending that Soldiers complete the Army Combat Readiness Test (ACRT).  According to a recent news article, the ACRT “incorporates warrior tasks and provides a more accurate assessment of the physical readiness training program and the Soldier’s individual capability”.

The Army Combat Readiness Test includes the following and will be completed with the Soldier wearing the Army Combat Uniform, Advanced Combat Helmet and weapon.

  • 400-meter run
  • hurdles
  • a high crawl
  • casualty drag
  • sprints
  • plus several other movement drills
